Amrita Ayurveda with Jennifer McCluskey
Amrita Ayurveda is dedicated to promoting health & wellness through the wisdom and power of Yoga & Ayurveda. It is our hope to spread the ancient, yet timeless, science of Ayurveda, to support & help guide people to discover their own innate ability to heal & maintain health and happiness.
Ayurveda means “The Science of Life” and is the oldest continually practiced holistic system of healthcare in the world. It recognizes that everything is connected & interdependent. It focuses on balancing the body, mind and consciousness according to one’s individual, unique constitution. Ayurveda focuses on prevention and self-care by bringing balance through lifestyle changes, state of mind, diet, herbs, yoga, meditation and more.
Jennifer discovered Ayurveda through her 20 plus years of studying and practicing yoga. She had always had a passion for health & wellness, and Ayurveda spoke to her with it’s emphasis on finding and maintaining balance and harmony with nature and life along with all it’s fluctuations. She believes that this offers us tools for health and wellness at a time when we need to find more balance in today’s fast paced world.
Jennifer studied Ayurveda with the American Institute of Vedic Studies under her long time teacher Ed Zadlo and received her Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant Certification. She continues to study under Ed with the American Institute of Vedic Studies and is currently completing her Vedic Counselor studies. Jennifer has trained with Dr Vasant Lad at the Ayurvedic Institute in Marma Therapy and has completed her Yoga Teacher Certification in Philadelphia at Yoga on Main. She currently teaches group classes and workshops in Ayurveda, yoga and meditation.
Jennifer merges her knowledge and experiences of yoga and Ayurveda to support and help guide people to discover their own innate ability to heal and maintain health and happiness. Marma Therapy Session
Marma points are intersections of physical and nervous system pathways where prana is concentrated. Stimulation of these points on the body allows for prana to flow unobstructed, awakening cellular intelligence and communication and stimulating the subtle energy for healing purposes. When imbalances block the movement of free-flowing energy in the body, the resulting stagnation leads to physical and mental discomfort and disease.
Pressure, specific oils for your body type and gentle massage at these points releases blocked or stored energy allowing balance to be restored.
