Osteopathic Medicine
Osteopathic medicine is one of the fastest growing health professions, with one out of every five medical students enrolled in a college of osteopathic medicine. Osteopathic physicians (DOs) apply the tenets of osteopathic medicine to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness, disease and injury. The foundation of osteopathic medicine is that people are more than just the sum of their body parts. Instead of treating specific symptoms, osteopathic doctors' training and practice concentrate on interconnectivity of all body systems and how each one affects the others.
