Sauna Heat Therapy - Thermotherapy
Heat therapy also called thermo-therapy, is the use of heat in therapy for pain relief and health. The therapeutic effects of heat include increasing the extensibility of collagen tissues; decreasing joint stiffness; reducing pain; relieving muscle spasms; reducing inflammation, edema, and aids in the post acute phase of healing, increasing blood flow. The increased blood flow to the affected area provides proteins, nutrients, and oxygen for better healing.

There are different methods of obtaining thermotherapy, particularly through the use of saunas of different types such as Nordic or Finnish Saunas, Infra-Red Sauna Therapy, Sweat Lodges, Turkish Steam baths and more.
